What this is chemically, from opened pages. Two opened Khavinson-group full texts print Ovagen (EDL) / EDL, Ovagen as the unmodified tripeptide Glu-Asp-Leu. One opened kidney-culture abstract prints the same three letters as T-35 (EDL). PubChem CID 444128 and ChEBI 137252 are the matching L-Glu–L-Asp–L-Leu structure (C15H25N3O8; InChIKey JVSBYEDSSRZQGV-GUBZILKMSA-N). Those registry records do not print the marketplace name Ovagen. - Renal epithelial cell-culture aging. T-35 (EDL) was applied to primary kidney-cell cultures; the opened abstract reports MMP-14 as the T-35 target, while a related polypeptide complex and T-31 (AED) were the agents tied to cell-renewal markers (PMID 24958378). A Russian-language companion (PMID 25946838) reports AED and EDL increasing proliferation and lowering p16 / p21 / p53 while raising SIRT-6 in young and aged renal cultures, plus a docking model to d(ATATATATAT)2.
- Rat kidney-injury / aging models. EDL is named in cisplatin acute-renal-failure (PMID 26515176), gentamicin and ischemia/reperfusion injury (PMID 28744634), and old-rat kidney function (PMID 30607912) papers from the Zamorskii / Khavinson group.
- In-silico DNA and transporter docking. EDL is docked to a ctcc DNA motif alongside AEDL (PMID 27909961). Ovagen (EDL) is assigned LAT1 ICM-score −28.27 on a 27-peptide table (PMID 35887081). These are computational scores, not measured uptake or promoter occupancy.
The trade name Ovagen itself is absent from PubMed title/abstract indexing (Ovagen AND Khavinson = 0). It appears in opened full-text tables, not in the PubMed-visible abstracts of the kidney papers. A PubMed search for Ovagen alone returns veterinary FSH / superovulation records and must not be mined as peptide evidence.

- Kidney-culture marker shift (T-35 / EDL). In aging primary kidney-cell cultures, “gelatinase MMP-14 is the target of T-35 peptide,” while a calf-kidney polypeptide complex and T-31 (AED) “activate cell renewal processes” (Ki-67, p53, IL-8 also on the panel) (Khavinson et al. 2014, PMID 24958378). This is an ex vivo culture abstract, not a clinical trial.
- Renal-culture senescence markers (AED and EDL). Russian-language *Adv Gerontol* paper: AED and EDL “increase cell proliferation, decreasing expression of marker of aging p16, p21, p53 and increasing expression of SIRT-6 in young and aged renal cell culture.” Both peptides are modeled as forming energetically favorable complexes with d(ATATATATAT)2 in the DNA minor groove (Khavinson et al. 2014, PMID 25946838). MeSH/chemicals on that record include glutamyl-aspartyl-leucine.
- Rat nephroprotection language (EDL peptide). In gentamicin nephropathy and ischemia/reperfusion, “EDL peptide produced a nephroprotective effect” described as prevention of oliguria and retention azotemia, decreased proteinuria and sodium excretion, preservation of antioxidant-enzyme activity, suppression of lipid peroxidation, and “normalization of energy supply to kidneys cells” (Zamorskii et al. 2017, PMID 28744634). In cisplatin acute renal failure, EDL (with a kidney polypeptide complex and AEDG) “normalized diuresis, creatinine concentration… glomerular filtration rate,” and the abstract states “EDL peptide produced was potent nephroprotective effect” (Zamorskii et al. 2015, PMID 26515176). In old rats, EDL (with PKC, AED, AEDG) increased diuresis and distal sodium transport; the authors conclude these peptides “may be considered as nephroprotective agents in kidney aging” (Zamorskii et al. 2018, PMID 30607912). These are Khavinson-network rodent abstracts, not independent replications.
- DNA-motif docking (EDL, not the trade name). “Peptides AEDL and EDL [bind] to ctcc sequence” among 19 docked short peptides (Khavinson, Lin’kova, Tarnovskaya 2016, PMID 27909961). No wet-lab footprint, EMSA, or ChIP is on the opened abstract.
- LAT1 docking table (trade name printed).
