SS-31 cardiolipin research
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is studied in mitochondrial membrane research. A 2014 primary study by Birk and colleagues used lipid-model systems and isolated mitochondria to examine interactions with cardiolipin, cytochrome c electron transfer and oxygen consumption. Those experiments describe specific laboratory endpoints, not a guaranteed outcome for this vial.
MOTS-C research vials concern a different peptide and mitochondrial-derived signaling research. Shared category placement does not make the compounds interchangeable.
