Sermorelin is the synthetic C-terminally amidated 29-residue N-terminal fragment of human GHRH (GRF(1–29)-NH2 / hGHRH(1–29)NH2) with opened sequence YADAIFTNSYRKVLGQLSARKLLQDIMSR-NH2 (PubChem CID 16132413; CAS 86168-78-7; UNII 89243S03TE; formula C149H246N44O42S; MW 3357.9 g/mol). The historical US product was the acetate salt (UNII 00IBG87IQW; CAS 114466-38-5; Geref®; FDA 1990; withdrawn on opened IUPHAR). It is not tesamorelin, not CJC-1295, not modified GRF(1–29) with extra substitutions, not intact GHRH(1–44), and not recombinant growth hormone. A research-market 10 mg vial is not established as equivalent to withdrawn Geref. Research use only. Not medical advice. Not for human use.
Educational information only. This page describes a laboratory research peptide corresponding, on opened registries, to the amidated GHRH(1–29) fragment sermorelin. It is not medical advice. Simple Research Peptides (SRP) materials are for laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use, consumption, administration, diagnosis, treatment, or therapeutic application. No human dosing, reconstitution, or administration protocol appears on this page. Historical Geref® diagnostic / pediatric labeling is opened regulatory history, not a current FDA-marketed product and not a protocol for a research-market vial.
Catalog descriptions do not establish lot-specific chemical identity. Check the applicable documentation for the research material being evaluated. Identity below is taken only from opened public registries and from papers / ligand pages that name sermorelin / GRF(1–29)-NH2.
SRP Sermorelin research vial: the current listing is 10 mg. See the Sermorelin product page for current pricing, availability and product documentation. Listed mass is a catalog quantity, not a dosing instruction. For laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.
Lot-specific identity: confirm the full sequence, C-terminal amide, salt form and analytical results using the applicable lot documentation. Registry identifiers and historical Geref records do not establish equivalence for an individual SRP research vial.
Research overview: Sermorelin is the 1-29 amino-acid fragment of human GHRH and retains the portion required to stimulate pituitary growth-hormone release. Mechanism: it activates the GHRH receptor, relying on a functioning pituitary rather than directly supplying growth hormone. Evidence: human diagnostic and pediatric literature exists, including historical regulated-product use. This does not establish anti-aging or performance claims. Quality note: Sermorelin, modified GRF(1-29), and CJC-1295 are related but chemically and pharmacokinetically distinct.
Dedicated evidence guide: this page separates the compound identity and historical literature from the current research-material listing. Related peptides and regulated products are not interchangeable evidence sources.

Sermorelin is a GHRH-receptor agonist, not GH. IUPHAR ligand 6998 lists a primary-target agonist interaction at human GHRH receptor (targetId 247). Prakash & Goa 1999 (PMID 18031173) print that intravenous and subcutaneous sermorelin specifically stimulate GH secretion from the anterior pituitary and that the 29-mer is “the shortest synthetic peptide with full biological activity of GHRH.” That is opened pharmacology, not a current prescription and not a protocol. Microgram-per-kilogram figures in that review are historical labeled / study conditions and are not copied here.
Historical approval is not current marketing and is not an SRP-vial indication. NCATS: US Previously Marketed, GEREF by EMD SERONO, first approved 1990. IUPHAR: approved FDA 1990; withdrawn true. openFDA current Drugs@FDA search: no matches. Opened Federal Register notice 78 FR 14095 (FR Doc 2013-04827, 4 March 2013): NDA 19-863 (GEREF diagnostic; initially approved 28 December 1990) and NDA 20-443 (GEREF pediatric GHD / growth-failure product; initially approved 26 September 1997), both held by EMD Serono, were discontinued in 2008; FDA withdrew both NDA approvals effective 18 June 2009; FDA later determined the products were not withdrawn for safety or effectiveness. Listed-drug strengths appear in that notice and are not copied here as a protocol. A withdrawn diagnostic / pediatric product does not make a research-market 10 mg vial a medicine.
Do not equate this vial with tesamorelin, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, recombinant GH, or an anti-aging protocol. Research use only.
Opened ligand and review pages support a GHRH-receptor agonist working model: the amidated 1–29 fragment binds pituitary GHRHR and stimulates endogenous GH release if the somatotroph axis is intact. It is not a treatment claim. It was not generated with an SRP 10 mg vial.
IUPHAR ligand 6998 interaction 79224: sermorelin is an agonist at human GHRH receptor (target 247); primaryTarget true; selectivity “Not Determined”; no numeric affinity printed on the opened interactions JSON.
Prakash & Goa 1999 (PMID 18031173): sermorelin is the shortest synthetic peptide with full GHRH biological activity; IV and SC administration specifically stimulate anterior-pituitary GH secretion; the review discusses a diagnostic GH-stimulation context and pediatric idiopathic-GHD literature. Historical labeled / study conditions are not copied here as a protocol.
NCT00324064 (COMPLETED): GHRH(Geref) followed by arginine in adult GH testing. That is a named Geref diagnostic-test record. It is not an SRP-vial study and is not an instruction. Dose figures from that record are not copied here.
Not shown for an SRP 10 mg vial. Not shown: proof the SRP lot is amidated 1–29 acetate matching Geref; human PK of that lot; anti-aging, performance, or body-composition efficacy; interchangeability with tesamorelin or CJC-1295; a current FDA-marketed sermorelin product.

Sermorelin is a laboratory research peptide. The historical Geref product is withdrawn and is not equivalent to a research-market vial by default. This page is educational. It does not provide dosing, reconstitution, administration, or any human-use instructions. The 10 mg mass is a vendor listing, not a published laboratory protocol.
Simple Research Peptides (SRP) materials are for laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use, consumption, administration, diagnosis, treatment, or therapeutic application.
Laboratory identity is the first practical issue. Opened registries describe sermorelin as CID 16132413 / CAS 86168-78-7 / UNII 89243S03TE / YADAIFTNSYRKVLGQLSARKLLQDIMSR-NH2. The acetate salt is a separate record (UNII 00IBG87IQW). SRP pages do not print sequence, amide, CAS, UNII, salt stoichiometry, or a public COA. A method written for tesamorelin, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, or recombinant GH is not automatically valid for this vial.
Confirm peptide identity, C-terminal amide, stereochemistry, salt, and purity by LC-MS before treating a vial as the literature article. Historical Geref diagnostic schedules are study / label conditions. They are not a reconstitution scheme. Those schedules are not copied here.
No reconstitution scheme, no administration route, and no human or veterinary use protocol appears on this page. Research use only.
It is the amidated 1–29 N-terminal fragment of human GHRH, not the intact 44-aa hormone (somatorelin).
No. Tesamorelin (TH9507 / Egrifta) is a different, stabilized analog. Most CT.gov collisions are tesamorelin.
No. DAC status and extra substitutions change identity and PK.
No. It is a GHRH-receptor agonist. It does not replace GH.
Opened IUPHAR marks sermorelin withdrawn. openFDA current search: no matches. Historical approval year 1990 is not current marketing.
No. Vendor alias only. Confirm on a COA / LC-MS. Acetate UNII 00IBG87IQW / CAS 114466-38-5 is a separate record from free-base CID 16132413 / UNII 89243S03TE.
NCT00324064 used named Geref in a diagnostic GH test. Do not treat tesamorelin NCTs as sermorelin.
No. This page does not provide reconstitution, administration, or dosing instructions. Research use only.
No. There is no human dosing, reconstitution, or administration protocol on this page. Research use only. Not medical advice. Not for human use.

Registry chaos that must not be collapsed. Acetate UNII 00IBG87IQW / CAS 114466-38-5 / CID 91820622 is the salt record. Do not treat it as a second peptide. IUPHAR CID 16129620 is a stereochemistry-unspecified representation. Not the identity CID used here. Tesamorelin (TH9507 / Egrifta) is a stabilized GHRH analog, not sermorelin. Most CT.gov sermorelin / intr=sermorelin hits are tesamorelin or unspecified GHRH. CJC-1295 DAC, CJC-1295 no DAC, and modified GRF(1–29) are different sequences / PK designs. Intact human GHRH is 44 aa (somatorelin; IUPHAR ligand 2270). Sermorelin is residues 1–29-NH2.

The historical US product was the acetate salt: UNII 00IBG87IQW / CAS 114466-38-5 / PubChem CID 91820622 / Geref®. Those acetate / Geref identifiers are recorded so they are not lost, and so they are not treated as a second peptide or as proof that an SRP 10 mg research vial is Geref-equivalent. Vendor language “Sermorelin Acetate” on the opened SRP page is an alias, not a COA and not acetate stoichiometry.
