Storage & reconstitution

Supplied as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder in a sealed vial. Unopened vials are generally kept cold and away from light. Labs usually reconstitute it with bacteriostatic or sterile water, letting the liquid run down the vial wall and swirling gently instead of shaking. The solution is then kept refrigerated.

Recommended starting dose (low and slow)

Starting doseRange starts at 600 mcg weekly; reference chart opens at 0.6 mg.
FrequencyReported schedules: 1x weekly, titrated up over ~20 weeks.
ReconstitutionExamples: 10 mg vial + 2 mL bacteriostatic water = 5 mg/mL; 10 mg vial + 1.5 mL water = 6.67 mg/mL. Different water volumes can be used; that only changes the draw volume, not the amount of peptide. storage note: Reconstituted: refrigerate; used within 4–8 weeks.

Studied higher doses

Studies have used doses up to the amounts below. Higher doses can be dangerous. Whether a person can reach them safely depends on height, weight, activity level, training and pre-existing conditions. We recommend following the lower starting dose above, and contacting SRP with any questions.

Highest amount reported in studiesConflict: go to 6 mg weekly, but the phase 2 trial's top arm was 4.8 mg weekly.
Step-up schedules reportedTitrated up over about 20 weeks. reference steps: 0.6, 1.2, 1.8, 2.4, 3.6, 4.8 and 6 mg. The phase 2 trial (Lancet Diabetes Endocrinol 2024, confirmed) escalated over 20 weeks to fixed 0.6, 2.4, 3.6 or 4.8 mg arms.

Suggested bloodwork and monitoring

Draft, for Bobby's review: CBC and comprehensive metabolic panel (kidney and liver function, electrolytes) before starting and again after a few weeks; fasting glucose, HbA1c and lipid panel; lipase where GLP-1 or amylin-pathway compounds are involved.

Frequently asked questions

What is Survodutide studied for?

In research it is studied for GLP-1/glucagon co-agonism and energy expenditure. A dual glucagon/GLP-1 agonist that leans toward the glucagon receptor.

How is Survodutide given in research?

Subcutaneous injection after reconstitution is the route most often described in research protocols. See the dosing frequency block on this page for how often.

What amount should a researcher start with?

This page lists SRP's low-and-slow starting dose in the Recommended starting dose section. Higher amounts that appear in studies are listed separately with their safety context. Start with the lower dose and contact SRP with any questions.
